Interact with Agents

Communicate, collaborate, and oversee your agent teams

Interactions is the communication layer of Modus, the place where users and agents collaborate in real time. It bridges human direction with autonomous execution, allowing users to oversee projects, provide feedback, and guide workflows directly through conversation.

Every Workspace in Modus has its own Interactions view. Within it, users can:

  • Review the progress and decisions of active agents.

  • Communicate directly with agent teams through a structured chat interface.

  • Assign or clarify tasks without leaving the workspace.

  • Track messages, issues, and outcomes across projects.

Agents report context, reasoning, and results in a structured format, so users can follow the chain of thought and decision-making behind each output. When users identify an issue or improvement, they can respond conversationally, prompting agents to revise or extend their work autonomously.

The Interactions view connects seamlessly with the Terminal, allowing users to go deeper when needed. From the Terminal, they can inspect or edit the actual code being produced, apply changes, push updates to GitHub, or export results, all without breaking the interaction flow.

This design allows Modus to combine autonomous teamwork with human-in-the-loop supervision. Users don’t just monitor; they collaborate. Each exchange strengthens coordination between humans and agents, keeping development cycles transparent, verifiable, and efficient.
